Characters
Meet Noah, Rory, Chloe, Áine and Liam — the five brave children — alongside Finn McCool, his giant dog Bran, and the mysterious Keeper of the Temple.

NNoah
The oldest of the children, blond-haired and thoughtful. Áine's older brother. Noah loves maps, clues and old buildings, and is the first to notice that the blue kite is not moving like an ordinary kite — and that the symbol on it seems to glow near Mussenden Temple. He carries the weight of looking after the others, and learns that leadership is about trusting everyone's gifts, not having all the answers himself.

RRory
Brown-haired, clever and restless. Chloe's older brother. Rory touches the strange stone button before anyone has finished saying "don't touch that". He sees patterns quickly and is fascinated by the old mechanisms, glowing symbols and time-machine-like device beneath the temple. His curiosity gets the children into trouble — and often saves them at the last second.

CChloe

Chloe notices what others miss — a change in the wind, a strange sound from inside the temple, the way the Celtic symbol pulses like a heartbeat. She may be the first to sense that the children have not found the kite by accident. Something, or someone, has called them.

ÁÁine
Darker brown-haired, expressive and full of imagination. Noah's younger sister. She solves riddles from ancient Ireland by thinking like a storyteller, not a historian.

An ancient people who live in the cold waters and hidden caves around Rathlin Island. They rise silently from the water to warn the children off the hidden sea-road, using mist and song to trap Bran. They took the Blue Binding Stone because they believed Finn and the land people had forgotten the old promise that kept balance between land and sea — but by hiding it, they weaken the basalt road and crack the caves of Rathlin. Proud, watchful guardians who have become afraid.
